Dockrib), and Crs. .M.nitealii. liellringer, Wilson, Parker, Colli's, Jlulehen Jlrowue and Wcbsier. HOLIDAYS. Mr 11. Spurdle, secretary to the Waitara UegaUa Committee, applied to have the usual half holiday held in New Plymouth on February 6th, instead of February 7lh, tlie former being the date of the annual regatta. The three-inch wash-out pipe in the street would wash out; a paved gutter. Cr. Browne favoured cobble-stone, gutters. Cr. Parker urged that the Council should abandon this "niiscrab'o way of g'tting rid of water."' Concrete would be the cheapest in the long run. The Mayor said the cobblestone gut tors, by far the cheaper, were as good as concrete if they were kept tarred. Cr. Browne thought the Council should put concrete kerb and channel in (lie main streets first. Crs.
