A special meeting of the i'arihaka koad Hoard was held on Thursday afternoon, when tiiere were prcseni: Messrs IRothery (chairman), WMlcox, 0 tiorke, Kevell, and Decgau. It was resolved that Wednesday be the statutory half holiday for the'Pitriliakn lioad Board district for the ensuing year. The necessary resolutions were passed in connection with the bank overdraft. Tenders were invited for six sniaM jobs, but only two tenders were received, as under:—Mix chains of metal ling, llawcora lioad, 11. Warner, .Cl! per chain, accepted; 30yds boulder boulder stone, Manihi lioad, I-'. Willvox. 3s fld per yard, accepted. It was resolved (o again call tenders for 42 chains of formation, Ngariki road, and Hie lorcinan was instructed to try and arrange to let the other work privately. cost not lo exceed his estimate. Ihe forman was given permission to obtain a standard for Inking levels -Native IJaies.—lt was decided to instruct the solicitor to sue for recovery of these.
