REPORTED PREFERENTIAL AGREEMENT. COLONIES TO OFFER BRITAIN PREFERENCE GERMAN INTERESTSAFFECTED Received 11, 'J.II pin. Bekmx, January 24. The German cablegram company's Melbourne correspondent mentions an agreement between Australia, Canada, and the Cape for joint action for preference in favor of Britain. The "Tageblatt" says each of the colonies mentioned has gone as far in obstructing the import of German goods as it can, without seriously damaging its own economic life, but possibly one result of the coalition will be the impossibility hereafter to secure from separate colonies alleviation of import conditions on German goods
