EARTHQUAKES
REPORTED FROM CONSTANTINOPLE. THE SUMATRA TIDAL WAVE. AN ISLAND DISAPPEARING. Received 23rd, 9.-1 p.m. Constantinople. January 23. A slight earthquake -occurred at Constantinople. London, January 23. Details of the recent tidal wave at Polo, liahi Island, oil' the coast of Sumatra, show that the southern coast was destroeyd, and fifteen httn dred perished. The island has n-arly disappeared. Violent earthquakes occur daily.
