Mr Flower, presiding at a meet nig of the Union Bank, said s lie prosperity and expansion of Australasia had never been so great as now. At the half-ycariy meeting of the Cummercial Banking Company, a profit ol £'9o,Su'o was announced. A diyidend of 10 per cent, was declared. The Joint Stock Bank showed a profit of £72,71.5, of which £CB,2!):J was devoted to interest on fiscd deposits and inscribed deposits stock, and the balance carried forward.
Both reports testify to the increasing prosperity of Australia. The Joint Stock Co. looks forward to a satisfactory realisation of the remaining pastoral properties of the old Bank.
