RIFLE SHOOTING.

GUAIIDS DEFEAT WANGANUI, The Taranaki Guards visited Huwera on lucsday and scored a meritorious win m a 20-aside match against the Wauguuui Itiftcs. The match was most keenly contested and the outing was voted one of the most interesting ot the season, The TVanganui men were two points ahead at the 200 yds range, but tko Guards beat their opl'onents total by 70 at the 500 yds and 43 points at 000 yds, thus carrying oil: the honours of the day by 117 points. It is noteworthy that the New llymouthmcn won in both ton and twenty man aside, the "tail" beating their opponents tallies. Sergeant Hartnell and IM. Hill headed the list with !U points each.
