Mr George Matheson arrived in New Plymouth on Saturday lo attend to (lie preliminaries in coiineclion with tlio forthcoming visit of Mr J. C. 'William, son's celebrated Koyal Comic Opera Company at the Theatre Koyal on Thursday evening, the 2-Jtii inst. The company is at present appearing in Wellington to enormous business, All previous records in llie way of bookings and receipts, it is stated, have been broken _ during (he present season. "The Cingalce," lite opera to be played here, has won the favour of Melbourne and Sydney critics, and had an exoeptionally long run in each cily.
