SPORTING PICTURES.
Owing to some misunderstanding, the electric light was not available for the Brill-Nelson pictures at the Theatre iioyal on Wednesday night, and the substitute illuiuinant was anything but brilliant. As a result, the moving pictures of the Melbourne Cup race, and a long film in the flritt.-Xol son light for the lightweight championship of (he world were very indistinct. The remainder wf the cinematograph programme was made up of comic slides, and these also sullered from the inellicient light. The selection ot views and incidents were wide and varied, and the management was exceed, inirly unfortunate in its endeavour to place (heir best show before a fairly large audience. A second entei lainnient is to be given this evening, when upto-dute lighting amusements -will enable the full sized sheet, to be used, the pictures being correspondingly larger. With good light, the collection of yjuw- i 0 well worth seeing.""
