j BISHOP BURDON. i Received 7, 10.14 p.m. London, January 7. ■ The death is announced of Bishop Burdon, Chinese scholar. [The Rt. Rev. John Shaw Burdon, D.D., was ordained in 1852, and was a missionary in China for 21 years from 1853 to 1874.
