PEACE PRESERVATION ACT
ITS REPEAL CUXDEMXED. Received 27th, 10.17 p.m. London, December 27. The Times censures the lepeal of the Peace Preservation Act, the original of which was introduced by the Liberals in 1880. Its particular value was in preventing the importation ol arms, and it has been inserted regularly in the Expiring Laws Cdntuiuance j UJill, until now, when it is unobtrusively dropped, though crime proves that*the old spirit of lawless violence, : is nowise dead.
