BELL BLOCK.

From Our Own Correspondent,

The annual school prize fund concert was held in the Bell Block Hall on Thursday evening, and was a great success in every way. Mr Clias. Hopkin occupied the chair. The concert opened with an amusing dramatic piece, entitled "The Leg of Mutton," which, caused much laughter. The piece was very well rendered by all the ladies and gentlemen who took part in it. Then followed the distribution of prizes to the school children. The second part of the concert consisted of recitations by Misses Hilda Holmes and Myrtle Pepperill. A vocal duet in character by Master G. Rundle and Miss L. Barnball entitled "Where Are You Going, M\ Pretty Maid?" and for an encore they sang a parody on their flrst piece. The cadets gave an exhibition of firing and bayonet exercises, and the-little girls went through wand drill very nicely. The concert wound up with a nigger minstrel troupe, which sang several pretty coon songs and cracked jokes, much to the plea-, sure of the audience.
