TARANAKI J.C. COiIiIITTEE. A special meeting of the committee of the Taranaki Jockey Club was held on Tuesday evening. Present: Messrs F. Watson (in the chair), Cliff, Kills, Fitzherbert, Uoldwater, Hill, King, Lepper, Sole, Standish, and Weston. .It was resolved to operate the double machine on the Flying and Christmas Handicaps on the first day and New Plymouth and .Summer Handicaps on the second day. Mr iSelcher, of VYanganui, was given permission to erect one of his patent hurdles iu front of Jthe grandstand for use in the two hurdle races to lie run during the meeting. Gboorka, J. 11. l'rosser's Auckland Cup candidate, arrived in New Plyuiouth on Tuesday night and eontin ued liis journey last night. The Lochiel horse was given a two mile canter and a good sand bath on the local track, which he appeared to enjoy. lie is evidently very well at present.
