Tcr Press Association. (Jisliorne. December 14. At the wool sales to-day, bidding was spirited up to a certain point. beyond which owners and buyers could not agree as to values. Crossbred fleece brought up to lO'/.d, rough lots going from !M to i)'/jd. Leeks went up to 4'/id. and pieces up to I'Ml For clean crutchings, skins and hidethere was good demand, well saved station skins reaching »y t i. Hides brought up to s'4d. 'IH.CKLAND AND SOX'S REPORT. Per Press Association. Auckland, December 14. Horses.—There was a full yarding. Heavv colts were in ilcmaud at £33 to £43; light, £8 to £2O; aged draughts, £8 15s to £10; good hir ness, fill 10s to £27; ordinary hacks and light harness, £7 5s to £l7; cob and ponies, £2 15s to £!'. At Renmera there was a full supply of beef, and prices were easier. Steers sold from 21s to 22s per hundred; cow, 17s to Ills. Sheep were in short supply. Wethers made 10s to 245; ewes, 14s to 18s. Lambs were plentiful, and seliir.g at lis to 10s. i'igs sold freely, porkers to 355, baconers to 545.
MIL NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY AUCTION REPORT. At the Haymarket, on Saturday. there was a moderate entry of pigs 'which sold- at fair prices, wcancrs making from 12s to 10s Oil. Several horses changed lands at prices ranging from JEI 7s (id to £5. At the mart, I had one of the big got entries of poultry I have ever offered, every available pen, coop, ami sundry case', etc., being occupied. Good average prices were maintained throughout the sale, hens making Is Sd to 3s 2d; pullets, 2s 4d; roosters, 2s; cockerels, Is Od to 2s; chickens. 4d to Is 3d; ducks, Is 7d to 2s Oil; ducklings, 10(1 to Is; geese, 3s Od; goslings, 3a 2d. Fruit. The near approach of Christmas is evidenced by the large quantity of fruit now coming forward, 300 cases of bananas conic to hand this week in addition to shipments of Auckland XeUon fruits. Prices realised were as follow: Green bananas, IDs to 12s (id: ripe do., 2d to 2'/,d lb; oranges, 17s 0d to li's; apples, 10s to 18s; lemons, 7, ■ plums, 5s to 10s fid; gooseberries, 3s to 5s Od; tomatoes. Od to 8d 11); peaches, 6s Od to 7s; cucumbers, 0s to tts 6d; green peas, 7d: new potaoes, 'D/id to 2d; cabbages, Is Od to 2s sack.
Cattle—At Stratford, on Tuesday, tin- yards were filled to overflowing. There w-as- a large attendance, mid the bidding was very brisk, nearly everything lieing sold at the hammer at {;(H>d prices. Land.—l have to report the sale of the 214-nere property near Opnnakc in the estate of the late W. Kllman to Messrs Henderson and Kirkwood at a price in favour of the purchasers. WILSON* AVD NOLA.VS RKPORT. We had a exceptionally large entry tt poultry on Saturday last, over 700 birds been penned. Expecting even a larger lot on Saturday, we have provided additional pens. All lots offered were sold to keen competitors. Fruit.—Fruit in fair quantity has come forward this week..
