The matters to lie brought under the notice of MiMillar by the Harbour Hoard include the vesting of the whole of the foreshore in the Board, so as to settle the disputed <|uestion of adjudication. This also applies to all wharves. The matter of trawling- limits, so as to continue the exclusion of trawlers from llauraki Gulf, is also to be brought before the Minister, also the question of river limits, etc. Mr 3.lc(iowan wi'il probably deal further with the deep let el scheme of development, which is exciting considerable interest, for which £IO,OOO is available. The general opinion is that the prosecution of deep level development will open up a new gohliicld. INQUEST. Wanganui, December 13. An inquest was held to-day on an old man named Council, who died in the hospital yesterday. Evidence was given that deceased's leg was considerably burned oil Guy Fawkes' day by a practical joker putting a cracker in his pocket. The doctor said this did not cause death, and the jury returned a verdict of death from natural causes. AUCKLAND PRODUCE EXPORTS. Auckland, December 13. The produce exports from the port <A Auckland are keeping pace with the settlement of the back country. For the fortnight ended to-day 38!) tonß of butter were received for shipment, against 352 tons for the preceding fortnight, and 294 tons for the corresponding period of 1005. For November.month• 1,500,0001b of frozen beef was exported, worth £21,005, the largest shipment so far sent out of tlx' port for one month. For December so far, the beef shinments total 1,400,00011), worth: .€15,500. This month's hemp shipment amount to 435 tons, against 348 tons for December, 1005, and the total shipped so far is 3482 tons. A .MARVEL I.OUS ESCAPE. Auckland, December 13. A three-year-old son of Mr E. Coppins, a cabinetmaker, had a marvellous escape from death this evening in Ilobson street. He ran across the tramlines, and when lie had just crossed, turned to rim back, and slipped directly in front of a car going up llobson-street. Mr Joseph Devlin, M P., addressed a large meeting, here to-night, the Mayor presiding. Ho met with an enthusias'tic reception, und delivered a brilliant speech on Home Rule for Ireland. At the close of the speech a resolution was carried sympathising with the object of tile envoy. About £IOO will be handed to Mr, Deylin.
