PERSONAL.
Mr Honan, late of the Victoria Insurance Company's Auckland oilice, arrived from the north on Monday last, and is now in charge of the Phoenix Insurance business in Mr Newton King's office.
Judge Walter Kawson, who will preside over the Native Laud Court reopening its sittings here to-day is a Taranaki boy, sou of the late Dr. Hawson. Although but recently elevated to his honorable, but trying position Judge piawson has already demonstrated lus adaptability for the- work. Information has been received thai the following local candidates hayc passed the Solicitor's final examination and are now- entitled to admission ; Mr Mervyn Wilson (of Standisli anc Herr), Mr Strang (Maloue, Johnston, and Anderson), and Mr Nicholson (Goi aud Wilson). Mr Austen Uewloy late of Messrs Koy and Wilson, am now with Mr W. G Beard, Masterton passed Ms intermediate.
