TARANAKI AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
At the last meeting of the Taranaki Agnculturnl Society's committee a considerable amount of business in connection with the recent show was transacted. Several suggestions made w ere noted, and will be taken into account in making condition* for next year's show. In the factory butter class at the recent show (class 294) the pvizcj money was divided as follows:—lst, . CO; 2nd, .a 12s Ud; 3rd, .£1 17s (id; -ttli, .£1 ss. Adjustment was necessary, more entries having been received than were anticipated. F. Sal way. of Bell ftloek, was awardcd first prize in the amateur horsejudging class at tlio show, H. Lynn and P. Stanley dividing second money. Accounts amounting to £lO7 were passed for payment. ' New members were elected: Messrs Webster and McKellar (New Plymouth), T. Lynn, J. 11. Weir R. J. Lynn (liltham), C. Matthews (Waitara), J, W. Gardiner (Awakino), A .1. Ilastie (Manaia), W. W. Jones (Mokau), F. Sylvester (Hawera), F A. Bremer (Okaiawa), .J. D. Mitchell" (Manaia), F. G. Carthexy (New Ply. month). W. E. (iruntlmni (Waitara) D. Laing ,Ncw Plymouth), G. H. (Onaerii), l)r. Wylie, A. Boon (New Plymouth), A. A. Ward (Tariki-, T C List (New Plymouth), 11. Thomas (Waitara).
In answer to ft letter from the A»ricultural Department, enquiring what had been done in reference to earning jjp*-. the grant of £5 for manuring root the secretary will reply that £8 has been paid already and the Society ' intends establishing further plots.
