The Hon. W. Caraerosa is at present on a visit to the South Island. He will spend a day or two amonnst his old constituents in the Taiori, and hopes to be back in less than a fortnight.

The Hon. Mr Carroll, Native Minister, has almost recovered, and leaves Gisborne this morning for the baek country, says a Pross Association wire. He will stay at Tahora for some day".

A Press A ssociation telegram from Gisborne states that Dr. Morrison, hospital medical officer, has forwarded a letter to the trustees tendering his resignation, and stating his position has become untenable unless ho can be assured of tho entire confidence of the trustees. The trouble arose over a recent enquiry following a letter from the sister of a patient who had died.
