H.lute working in the Milburn limij quarry ou Saturday, George Wridfc a married biuii, 33 years of age-flaM the misfortune to fall from vho face of the quarry to the ground, a distance of some sixty feet. He sustained a . woken rib and received a very severe shock. He was brought in for treatment at the Duuodin Hospital, where be died to-day. Our Stratford correspondent writes: —A serious accident occurred to Mr E. Doherty, of Douglas, on Saturday morning. As ho was driving to tha Douglas factory his horse, a. young one, became unmanageable at tho railway crossing where shunting was being carried on, and capsized, tha cart into the ditch alongside tho road. Mr Doherty was thrown heavily ncrosß a stump and one of the full cans of, milk fell on top of him, severely crushing his thigh and also cutting his legs. As far as can bo'iiseertaincd, no bones arc broken. He was taken on to Now: Plymouth to the hospital. Much sym-' pa thy is felt for him, as he is a man widely respected in this district.
