A fair amount of business has been done in investment Btockß, and both Bank of Neww Zealand anil Sew Zealand Insurance have been a good deal dealt in at advanced prices. Westport Coal are anquired fo •at current rate*. The market has been quiet in Taranaki Oils, but there has been a steady hardening of prices and sellers are now holding for 14sC!l with sales at 14s3d. The additional issue of shares in the lnglewood Oil Boring Co has been considerably over subscribed locally.
