SWIMMING. TO THE EDITOR. Sir.—Let us hope that the Western Park committee and th e New Ply mouth Swimming Club have now discovered that the public want Western Park to do its work, and that the assistance given to the swimming club at various times has been for the encouragement of swimming. The dub and the authorities can do a lot yet in this direction, and when there :ire no more boys and girls to teach, ip more of the- club's legitimate work U do, their attention can be paid to keeping parks and grounds. lam {-l* id to see the club has decided 'o have club races, and would suggest that this kind of thing be proceeded with. What about a club championship, or two or three c'ub championships, to be competed for in a series of contests throughout the season? I am, etc., LEARNER.
