Received 4tl>, 10.18 p.m. Sydney, December 4'A meeting of ladies under the auspices ol the Immigration League discussed the question of importng general servants from Britain Th* proceedings were lively and there jraft strong opposition. One element claimed that good servants were unobtainable in Sydney, the other that mistresses were to blame, and that the movement was an attempt to introduce cheap labour. Eventually, after the chairman had poured oil -on the troubled waterij it was resolved to form a Women'* Immigration Society. ,
