FIGHTING BULL RUNS AMOK.
ONE KILLED AND MANY INJURED. WILD STREET CHASE. A fighting bull escaped in Madrid •>ne miming recently at nine o'clock, mil meeting in the 6treet a sweeper w' o tried to 6top his career tossed md killed him. Next i woman, who \va- unable to •scape, was caught by her skirts and dragged a hundred yards, followed by an excited, thouting mob. The pursuers and pursued entered the Botanical Gardens, where the guards threw weighted over the animal's bead, but were dragged along the ground or tossed.
Leaviner the gardens several policemen fired revolvers at the bull.wounding him without apparent effect. The bull then attacked a team of mules, wounding the driver, who only escaped death by jumping inside a cart.
After injuring fifteen more person; the bull encountered a pair of mounted Civil Guards, who fired with Mause- rifles and killed the beast.
