PROTESTANT CHURCHES' UNION.
CONFERENCE OF ANGLICANS AND PRESBYTERIANS. FAITH BASIS AGREED UPON. Received D*c. i, 12.40 a.m. Melbourne, November 30. The interim report of the confer- | ence representatives of the Anglican and Presbyterian Churches on the question of union, shows that reso'utions weie passed accepting the Old and New Testaments as the standard faith; accepting the Apostles and Nicenc Cic-.d as < vising the fundamental doctrines of the Chri>tian faith; agreeing that two sacraments, baptism and the Lard'* Supper must bi ministered with unfailing use of Christ's words of institution and the elements ordained by Him, that this act involves prayer and the imposition oi hands. The conference agreed on essential conditions of ordination to the tryAll the above were adopted unanimously.
Several other matters under discussion were referred to a sub-committee to report to an adjourned meeting cf the conference.
