BOROUGH LOAN PROPOSALS.
A meeting of the Citizens Committee appointed at the recent gathering of ratepayers to assist the Borough Council in giying effect to the loan pro posals, was hoH last evening. The committee decided to issue to the ratepayers a circular setting forth clearly md succmtly the statement made bv Mr Brooking, late Chairman of the Hleclric Lighting Committee, explain lug the discrcpincy between the original estimates (or ;he lighting sehemo and the cost to chie. Tiio circular will be listributed by post next week. In the 'omniiftcc's opinion the facts clearly point to the expediency of authorising ihc loan, in order to double the capacity of the plant and place the scheme on a paying basis,
