UNDERWRITERS' ASSOCIATION DISSOLVED. Rceived 30t.11. 12.10 d.m. Perth, November 29. The fire insurance combine wliich hah existed for a number of years lias broken up. At a meeting of 32 companies out of 35 belonging to the Underwriters' A-sociation, a motion was carried that, owing to broaches j of the agreement of the Associal/on by the Royal Company, and all cf-1 fcrts to bring that company into lino having failed, the agreement of the , Association be suspended. The manager of the Royal ac.-u/'es the remaining members of the As- '. sociatfon "of having been guilty of th-i very practices they codemn in the ' Roya", and says his company aftvays ' observed the tariff right up to the L time of the rupture. It was the other ' companies that were going behind 1 the tariff. Th result is to be a fierce war of e rates.
