THE BATHS.

The Baths Committee met 011 Mo'nday afternoon, when there were present : Councilors Collis (chairman) and Messrs Newman and Tisch. It WdS decided to recommend that the electric light be laid across the baths at a cost not to exceed £(}', and that the Thursday bathing hours" be gentlemen from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m., and 4 p.m. to closing time; ladies 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cr. Then, too, the swimming club would organise night attractions. The Council on Monday night adopted 1 the report, only Councillor Hellringer objecting, jn the grounds that the baths were too expensive. Cr. Codis retorted: Tney pay better than the East End shed, anyho(,v. The temperature of the water in the baths is now at a temperature of 65 degree.!, warmer tiijin at any time last summer. Attendant is daily increasing, as many as sixty bathers splashing about 011 o'ne afternoon.
