AICK-IN ACCEPTS CONDITIONS OF FREEDOM. H'er frees Association.) Auckland, November 27. Wm. Stevenson Aickin, the Auckland sharebroker, who pleaded guilty to u charge of sending a threatening .etter to thg Premier, was brought before Judge Edwards at the Supreme Ccurt to - day. He consented t£ the term? originally proposed, and was accordingly bound over to keep ( the peace for 3 years in his own recognisances of and two sureties of £SOO each. One of the conditions imposed was that he should not go beyond a 20 miles' radius, from Auckland City,
Aickin asked what would happen if at any time he wished to go to the Thames or Te Aroha or Wailiij or other places outside of the limit on business. Could any arrangement 1 be made for permission l to do bo ? His Honor said he supposed this might be arranged with the consent of the Crown Solicitor or of himse f if lie wore in Auckland. "We don't,,"he added, "want to tie you up." In reply to His Honor, Mr Tole, Crown Solicitor, said he anticipated' there was no difficulty. _ His Honor; There will be no objeo, turn, about anything reasonable, Aickin. No one wants to refctrict your freedom so long as the publiq are safe. Certainly, we don't want to send you to prison. Aickin: I am sure your Honor 'has been very kind. His whole thing out of your head, and go away and attend to your sharebroking.
. Aickin smiled, and nodded affirmatively, and left the Court with hist bondsmen.
