Cr, Huchen would not support tho Vivian strc.et proposal until there was some further infoimation. The work had never been contemplated in tho original loan proposals, and he did not think the Council had been fairly tretited by the Western Park Committee, who' had sprung this as a surprise 011 the Council.
The Mayor explained that ,£25 expenditure was necesary in order to fulfil tho conditions of exchange with tiie Schuo". Commissioneis. Cr. Wilson was surprised that the committee had not considered the matter of filling Cutfield road hollow from the bank alongside, or of grading the road, lowering the lii.l a little higher up, instead of recommending the Council . to cart spoil from some other street. He moved that the item be deleted from the report, in order to clear the way for a resolution that the Council vi-V the spot, Cr. Blown saitl 'the Vivian street work was 'promised at the time of raising the street loans, and had nothing to do with Western Pa rk, as hinted by Cr. llutchen. Cr. Wilson's motion was seconded by Cr. Parker and carried; It was decided- that the Council view' tile site at 4 o'clock on Monday afternoon next.
