Infuriated by the, b'.mcUu;. spray and the rolling of the ship they charged though the crowd w fighting steerage passengers, bellow ing loudlv as tfiev went, and trani,jing many of tliem uider foot. 1 Finally a largo wave broke over the deck, striking the bulls. I.vhich dashed against the port rail. The animals were stunned, and as thsv lay on deck the crew rushed up ami fastened them with ropes.
The passengers wero then driven below deck again at the pistol point, and guarded by -■> saiors armed with revolvers until the storm ceased.
