Those who were fortunate enough to be present at tho entertainment given by th B Stanham-Morrison; Company last August will be pleased to team that this enterprising company have completed arrangements for a return visit to this town next Wednesday and Thursday evenings, when they will present the Gaumont chronophone, showing an entirely new =et of chronophone arid ordinary films. The chronophone is a w«u dciful piece of mechanism which produces what is termed in theatrical parlance "articulating pictures." The pictures arc the ordinary movingoues which have so long been in vogue; but have aspired" to greater realism, and sing, i a 'k, laugh and whistle in a way that if one pauses to think of it, must impress one with the scientific antl mechanical exactitude of thc artifical means resorted to. The novelty and realism of the combination is such, however, that the artificiality is actually forgotten and the audience finds itself dwcl'ing on the moving lips of the figures on the screen, and almost forgetting that livin.; ..-tors are not catering lor its i-iitcr.ainment.
