The general entries for the Taranaki show, lo be held on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, closed on Saturday night, and easily constitute a record for the Society. Over yoo entries in the general classes have already been received—agents' are not yet to Hand—which is over 25 per cent, ahead of any previous show held by the Society during its thirty odd years' existence. No betler warrant could be given that the show is now recognised as. one of the foremost, and that the only element necessary to ensure its success 'is the weather. Given fine weather, Ihe snow is certain to attract a record attendance, excursion fares being available from all provincial towns on the railway lineThe entries of horses, pedigree cattle and sheep promise to bo the strong features of th e show, and the competitions also will excel anything hitherto seen locally. Exhibitors in the dog section should note that their exhibits are required to be on the ground on both days. The judging will take place on the first day of the show.
