? CE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY a SCHEME. Per Press Association. Wkt.mnbtoh, November 22. Tiio SoJdon Menioriiil Executive Jonimittee had an interview with the Premier this morning. The Premier read a memorandum from the Inspec-or-General, practically condemning the proposal to establish a Technical i University at Wellington, on the ,'rouud that it would involve an initial i ■Mst of about £IUO,OOO. He suggested ( instead that provision ho made for the ' following scholarships:—(l) New Zealand Hescarcli; (2) Higher Technical; ' (3) Travelling : which was estimated to ' jost little more than £3'l()u a year. The Committee meet again to-morrow ' afternoon to consider the memorandum, and will have a further interview with the Premier on Monday next.
