OMATA BAZAAR.
> A bazaar 111 aid of the improvement.' ■ lately effected at St John's, Omnta was opened yesterday afternoon. The 1 hall was nicelj decorated by manj ' willing hands, and presented a striking appearance as one entered at the front door. The stalls were covered with articles of all kinds, and before Hie 1 afternoon had passed a largo number of them, both ornamental and useful had changed hands. The. stalls were presided over by the following ladies • -JMinoy stull: Mrs demon*, Miss t aDtl MrS Gl r UeS ' Plain IVol ' k s awsdames Oromptfm. and Were, L'mduce Stall; Mrs C, Kywlon, Mrs Frost, and Misses Glynes. Lollie stall: Misses Were and MeAllum Juistmas Iree: Misses 0 ompron and Were. Afternoon lea was dispensed by a body of young- ladies, chief among whom were Misses Tyrrell, Glynes, AlcAUum, and Crompton. The bazaar sras opened by Mrs Evans in a few well chosen words, after which a handsome bouquet was presented to Mrs Kyaus by a small damsel, The Vicar of St. Mary's thanked those who had so generously helped to make the bazaar so successful, and remarked upon the unanimity display. The Omata people, Messrs Were and Gilbert assisted at the doors. A number !of townspeople went out to assist in making the bazaar a success. The sale will be continued this afternoon.
