Mr G. Tiscli lias declared his ntention of retiring from the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. Whilst it may bo a fair thing to allow a public man to retire when he's had his fill of the kicks without ha'pence, most people will agree that some action should be taken to urge Mr Tiscli to continue in office. The town has no person more fit to represent it,- and it is fairly unanimously agreed that no one has over given more time than Mr Tiscli to die work of supervising the Board's institutions. Of recent years, during Mr Tisch's absence in England, Mr Cock was a very efficient chairman, and still does excellent service on the Board. Should Mr Tiscli definitely refuse renoinination, then it is probable Mr Cock will be the new chairman.
