It is officially announced that Ferreira, a Transvaaler , with several Boers, recently employed in German South-West Africa, is raiding in North-West Cape Colony, trying to organise a rebellion They surrounded and surprised police camps at Abeah and Witkop, wounding two troopers, and capturing arms and ammunition.

After gaining some recruits, Ferriera is marching on Zwart Modder, iorcing the farmers to join him, asserting that a rising is imminent in the Transvaal.

Lord Elgin, Minister for the Colonies, was at Downing-street ti:-l late on Saturday night. Mr Winston Churchill, Under-Secretary for the Colonies, is out of town.
