"LONDON LIFE."
There was plenty of sensation, a goodly shaie of laughter-provoking dialogue, and good acting in " London Life, produced by the Taylor-Carring-ton Dramatic Company last mglit the one defect was that the piece lacked a finale, Tlio tale, the incidents, the staging, all led the audience to expecta startling climax that did not eventuate. However, that was not the fault of the players, who did their \vork well. The veteran, Mr Charlie iaylor, was almost, constantly before Lie footlights, tins time as a drunken Oockaey carpenter, who was "such a tool you knoiv" under all circumstanci s out came out on top in tho liuish. Jlo jvas as popular as ever, and the full house applauded him to tho echo. Miss Ella (Jiirrington lias been seen to better advuutage, but nevertheless gaye a good rendition of her part as the drunkard's wife. The part' of the Jruukard was splendidly acted, MiWard Lyons' mad delirium being probably the best piece of acting during the whole evening, it was terribly life-like. Lottie Jones was a good character, Miss Minnie Lancaster doing the part full justice, and Mr G. Pagei " with a window-pane in liis eye,'' was a London " Johnnie" to the life. The roles of Lady Waldegrave and Mr \yalter Grey were safely entrusted to Miss Muriel MurtonandMr H. Nightingale respectively, aud the minor parts were well played,
