PROPOSED SPECIAL LOAN OF £IO,OOO. 11 JIE Council of the Borough of Now Plymouth heicby give> public notice ihat it impost's to bor row by way of Spe.eiul Loan the sum of /,io,ooo at a rale of interest not exceeding £5 per ccntun per annum, wiili a sinking- fund olj per cent additional,the loan to be repayable on a period ending the first day of October, Kj22, and to be for the following- purposes:— £IO,OOO to pay all liabilities already incurred in connection wiili the Electric Light Insinuation ; to provide additions and extensions to the Electric Lighting either within or without the Borough, and to supply elect reity; to acquire in connection with such additions and extensions lands, casements and appurtenances and buildings, engines, machinery and other things; to pay compensation to any person injuriously affected; and any other puiposes incidental to or in relation to any of the above purposes.

The Council proposes to pledge as security for the loan of ,£IO,OOO and the interest thereon an annually recurring Special Kate of twopence half-penny UJd) in the £ on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property within the Borough and its revenues, rents, tolls, issues and profits, with the exception of all land taken, acquired, 01 used for public Abattoir and all buildings, erections,J structures and appurtenances now or hereafter thereto belonging, and the revenues, rents, tolls and profits therefrom, and also excepting moneys received or receivable by way of grant from the Government. The Council proposes that the first year's interest, all preliminary expenses incurred in connection with the scheme for whicfi the Loan b raised, and the cost of raising the Loan, be paid out of the proceeds of such Joan.
