IKOM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. A basket social was held in .the hall 011 Thursday night the 25111 inst., 101 the benefit of Hie Ktutake Rifle Ciub, and was a gieat success. Air Webster, auctioneer, sold the ban 1 keis, This was a novelty lor (Jakuta, being the first basket social ever held here, but 1 don't think it will be the last. Mr Paierson to the p ano and Mr W. Pitt violin, gave good music. The gentlemen who were not lucky enough to buy a basket got served out ot the general basket. It was the best social held here for some time.
There was a meeting about enlarging the hall, but only a few turned up. It was decided to get the work done as soon as possible. A euchre party was held in the hall on Wednesday night in aid of the library..
