The Hon. Thos. KePy, M.L.C., has returned to his h ome in Bell B'ock, after the session. Ihe Hon. I{. McNab, Minister for Agriculture, was present at the Palir.ei'ston Show on Thursday afternoon. Miss He-ter Mac Lean, who has h"-'ld iinporiant positions in London, Vxtoiia and New South Wales, has been ii; pointed Assistant-Inspector of General Hospitals, Asyiums, and Charitable Institutions, and Officer in Charge of Maternity Homes, vice Mrs Grace Neill, who has resigned to eulc in America. Mis s Mac Lean enjtcred upon her new duties yesterday. Mr W. A. Cathro was presented 0 1 Wednesday with a handsome travelling bag, with initialled name plate, the gift being made by Mr 1 I' agan, on behalf ot his fellow em- ; ployves in ilessrs E. Griffiths and jCo.s business. The New Plymouth Hockey Club presented him with a sei: of s.lver spoons, the presents being' emblematic of the good wishes expressed on the occasion of his marriage.
