BUILDERS ON STRIKE.
CONCEDING MEN'S DEMANDS. Rcce.ved ist, 11.40 p.m. Melbourne, November 1. The strike commenced this morning. Many men did not turn up and othera came at eight instead of 7.30 They were informed their seijricea were not required. Work is at a standstill on many buildings. A gcod many carpenters adhered to the old agreement, and are still working. Jhe Trades Hall reports that fully 50 builder, and contractors outside the Association have conceded the men's demands.
