THE COLONIAL BANK.
Melbocbxe, October 31. At the half-yearly meeting of the Colonial Bank of Australasia, the chairman said it was proposed to increase the dividend from five to six per cent, on both preference and ordinary shares. Victoria was enjoying a period of great prosperity and the banks showed an increase of over six million in deposits during the last three years. If the accumulation went on at that rate investors would have to be satisfied with a lower rate of interest in future.
