A QUEER SIMILE.
"KICKING LIKE A MULE. 11 - MR. MUNRO'S SELF-CARICA-,TURE. Per Press Association. Christchurch 2 October 30. A rumour was current late to-night chat Mr G. S. Munro, Chiof Executive Commissioner of the International Exhibition had tendered his resignation and would proceed to England at once A Press reporter saw Mr Munro, after the Press banquet, and asked him whether there was any truth in the rumour. "It is not true," Mr Munro replied. "I state unequovically, chat 1 have not resigned. If Igo down I shall go down jvith flying colours, kicking like a pantomime mule."(The Executive Commissioners found it necessary to regulate workers' cycle traffic in the buildings, but decided not to compel the workers to 'pay "stand" charges. Mr Munro issued orders to the contrary, and there was the making of a riot at this, new development of the Munro doctrine. The Times correspondent states that "there is work waiting} for tho Premier to unravel the tangled skein." Mr Munro says that under regulation 6 he has power to suspend any resolution carried agaist him, if lie considers it inimical to the best interests of the Exhbition.
