TRAFFIC IN BABIES.
ADOPTED AND ABANDONED. WOMAN'S WELL MERITED SENTENCE. Keeeiyed 20, 11.51 p.m. Sydney, October '2G. A woman was sentenced to eighteen months on charges of abandoning two adopted infants." Evidence wus given that between August the Ist and tember 2nd, eight abaudoned infants were fonnd in the streets of Sydney. four of whom died after admission to the hospital. The accused made a trade of adopting infants for lump sums. The judge said in two other cases, besides those for which accused was sentenced, the infants died, and no doubt these also could be laid to her I charge.
