Smith; Central, second assistant, Mr G. U. Dudley ruad, sole teacher, Miss G. M Alexander; Pohokura, sole teacher, Miss llcntskie (Miss ileutskie had sinco declined to lake up ,icr appointment); Waitara, first year pupil teacher, Miss A. Brabant; Strattord, third year, Mr D. Cameron ; Norfolk road, temporary assistant, Miss E. Urquhart; Eltliam ruad, temporary solo teacher, Mr L. Bicheno. lie was very sorry to report iliat Miss Rig-by, teacher at Eltnam road, was quite unable to resume her duties yet, owing to an attack of rheumatic fever following on her recent illness ; and he hoped the Board would grant her an extra month's salary out of the fund provided for the purpose of supplying relieving teachers. The J'ututawa School Committee, having recommended the appointment of Miss 1. Cameron, their present temporary teacher, in preference to either of those applicants whose names had been forwarded for ihcir selection, and also forwarding a petition signed by several settlers requesting Miss Cameron's appointment, he had decided to refer the matter to the selection committee. The report was adopted. SELECTION COMMITTEE. The teachers' selection committee reported tnat eleven applications had been received for ttie position advertised at Durham road, and one for W hangamomona. They recommended that the names of Miss J. Eraser, )•.j, Miss M. i'apps, D 4, and Miss L. I'. Riley, D 4, be submitted to the Durham road committee, and for \\ liangaiiioiiiona, Miss Ainsworth, 1)4. The committee recommended that Miss Cameron be allowed lo remain as temporary leacher at Tutuliiwa. and that tile question of a permanent appointment be left until after the next examination. —Adopted. NEW SCHOOLS WANTED. The Chief inspector reported fully 011 the application for a school at Okau, in the Okau load, and recommended that, pending the receipt of mluiniation concerning ihe possibility of obtaining quarters without going ■ o the expense of building. The Inspector reported 011 the applications lor new schools at Ana and Kaea'-a, in the new Waitonio county, which might come within the province of Hie Auckland Board. The applications of the Toko and LTenui Committees for additions to residences were referred to the Finance Committee, to report this (Wednesday) morning. Toko requires a lean-to the full Icng'li of the building, to provide a kitchen, pantry, and bathroom, and a iww chimney; Urcnui wants,a verandah or porch and i a bathroom. Messrs Mori-son and Kennedy asked "that Hie Toko job be put in hand immediately, and that some foeal builder do the work in order to save architects 1 expenses.
