MR NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY REPORT. At. the Haymarket 011 Saturday pigs were not tjuite so plentiful, but the demand was as keen as hitherto. Chicks made Cd, hens 1/2 to 3/6, pullets i/g 10 2/9, roosieis i'S to 3/, cockerels 1/ to 3 , duck 6 1/6 to 3/O, ducklings 1.3. ; Plants, furniture, etc., sold at the usual rate s . Pure-bred pug dog £l. Cattle.—On Monday at Smart road the sale of Mr E. May's farm and 1 dairy stock was well attended, buyers : being present from all parts of the - district. 'The cows were unfortunately in low condition, otherwise they 1 would have made much higher prices ' Springing cows made £5 to £8 15/, cows in milk ,£4 5/ to £y, aged and • backward calvcrs- £1 15/ to £3, ycar- ■ ling heifers ,£l, 18 mos. do, 29/ to ; 31 , light harness horses ,£4 2/0 to ■ £j, sows in farrow £2 17/6 to £4 15/, 1 sow and litter £5 5/, store pigs 24/ to 2t) , weaners 15/ to 16/6, dairy plant and sundries selling well. A Stratford on Tuesday the yards
were full. Store stock met with fair competition, but there was little o- no alteration in values. In the dairy yauls springing heifers came forward far in excess cf requirements and prices, except fur prime quality, ruled very low. Yearlings made [26 to 23/. sieers 27/ to 29', 2 to 3 \ear steers £3 15/ to £3 12/6, fat cows £4 15/ to £5, store do. £1 4/ to £2 2;, springing heifers (prime quality) £4 10/ to £7, medium and inferior 52 b to £-, 10/, springing cows L2 7 b" 10 £<> 10'/.
