The second annual meeting of lite Council of tin- above was hold at Stratford on Tuesday night. Prosent: Messrs k. H. Kivell (chairman), A. Stewart (Stratford Caledonian Society), A. Hansen (N.Z. Axemen's As-uciati« n), L. C. Jennings (Taranaki Caledonian Society). K. G

Ha:r (Khharn Caledonian Society), J. Clatke (Star Sports Club, New l'lymouth). and J. 11. Tnonipson ISeeretaty). The minutes of last jmeeting were read and confirmed.

The Secretary read the second annual report as follows: —"Your Coun cil has pleasure in submitting the second annual report and balance-sheet Finance: The balance-sheet discloses a decidedly healthy state of affairs, th? actual year's working showing a credit of ,£lO 17,10. Clubs ; Var-.ous athletic clubs and Caledonian societies, from around the extreme Northern Taranaki sea-eoasi to as far south as Kai Iwi, have affiliated during .he past season. Council. Messrs L. C. Jennings (Waitara) and J. C. Gibbs (Ingiewood) resigned from the Council duiing the past season. Messrs H. Spurdle tWaitara) and R. G, Barr (tliham) were elected to the vacancies. Disqualifications: One competitor who was under disqualification from the previous season was released from sentence at the close of the past running season. lhe Counci has had feveral severe cases to deal with, one competitor front the Autralian Continent giving trouble to several affiliated clubs. His record is now fairly well known throughout the colony. \\e regret that a prominent Taranaki runner has also been disqualified through his connection with the Australian runner. The Council also deait with several furjther cases similar to the above. N.Z. Athletic Union: This body has now ccme into fuil working order. Sports associations and various large clubs practically throughout all parts of the colony have been affiliated. This

The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of £ls 31. On the motion of the Chairman, and seconded by Mr J. Clarke, the report and balance-sheet were adopted.

CarnM.L.C.; Executive Council of Seven: Messrs J. Clarke (Xew Plymouth), A. Hansen (Eliham), K II Kivell (Stratford), L. C. Jcnning (Waitara), A. Stewart (Stratford), R G Barr (Eltham), and a nominee by the Hawera Caledonian Society; Secretary and Treasurer. Mr J. H. Thompson (Stratford); Auditor: Mr F. E. Hardy (Eliham). Mr J. Clarke moved, and Mr A. Stewart seconded, that the Taranaki Association is prepared to advance £5 5, against affiliation fees if needed by the Xew Zealand Athletic Union for the Union's cur:CM expenses.— Carried.
