ONE WEAK RINK.

Received ißth, 10.19 p.m. Sydney, October 18. Th« New Zealanders suffered defeat in two four-rink matches against Petersham and Ashfield.

At the former place the local team included four inter-State piayers, and a very strong combination altogeth «. Sneddon's rink, which performed very weakly at Maitland, was the came of the visitors' downfall at Petersham. The other three rinks were 12 up at the finish, but Sneddon finished 17 down. Bouskill brought his game along strongly, and although Wheeler's rink had the worst of it in the first couple of hours, they I played so excellently uphill that they finished level. For the visitors Black and Reid played a great leading game. The local team was a good one, including two members of the inter-State team. For the best part of the game the scores ran neck and neck.
