A COLLIERY DISASTER.
TWENTY-SEVEN BODIES RECOVERED.
London, October 15. An explosion occurred at the Wingate Colliery, Durham.
Twenty-seven bodies have been rcovered and 30 miners rescued alive. It is feared that many are still en:ombed.

Received 16, 10.50 p.m. Losdoj. - , October 16 The explosion at the Wingate colliery was heard for four miles. The victims were ptonerLen and shifters who were preparing the woirkiogs for the hewers. Owing to the rescue of some reported dead, the death roll is now twenty-four.
