A deputalion from the Chamber of Commerce and business people wait'd on the Commissioner of Stamps o-day to urge that the law should be miended to do away with the necesiily of stamping duplicate receipts. The Minister said he had already Iraftcd a clause to provide for this. ALLEGED DEFALCATIONS. -ODGE SECRETARY CHARGED. Per Press Association. Wellington. October 15. Counsel for 11k pro-eeution sated that accused was -erretnrv of the lodge for 15 ye,,is, and the defalcations (xlended over 14 years. The total amount missing was /l:6oo. Accused denies the allegations.
