TARANAKI HOSPITAL BOARD.
At the monthly meeting of the Tar- f anaki Hospital and Charitable' Aid t Board there were present: Messrs 1 G. Tisch (chairman) R. Cock, J. Bur- t gess, C. Andrews, J. Brown, C. S.ulli- 1 van, and D. H. McDonald: 1 X-RAYS INSTALLATION. | The tender of Messrs Griffiths Bros. ' was accepted, for installing electriclight in the surgery room set apart ' for the X-rays apparatus, the price ' being ,£8 12/. Other tenderers were Messrs Nixon £lO g/, Smart Bros. £lO 16/, Roberts and Stokes £ll 17/6. : The small dark room required for ! developing the photographs taken by ' means of this apparatus has been erected by Mr J. 0. George, at the day labour rates. HOSPITAL ASSISTANCE The chairman reported that Mr Wm. Wadsworth had been re-appoint-ed gardener at a salaryof £S4a year, 1 with cottage rent free. Mr Tisch i also reported that Mrs May, the new ; laundress, had taken up her duties, . and was giving every satisfaction. COTTAGES. It was decided to place one of the i Board's cottages in repair in Bart ret: street, for occupation by a char- . itable aid recipient. The Board . has two other cottages there, both oc- [ copied by recipients of charitable ■ aid. , OLD PEOPLE'S HOME. The llawora Board wrote in connection with the extra charge per head for inmates at the Old People's Home. The Board had objected " previously to the cost of all improve--3 ments and new buildings being in- > eluded in the figures on which the 3 charge per head for maintenance was ■ computed. Hawera now agreed to 1 accept the fixed sum of 12/ as a week--1 ly charge as from Ist April, 1906. i This arrangement was considered » satisfactory, and accepted. 3 AN AUCKLAND CLAIM. t The Auckland Board wrote, asking 1 payment for the treatment at the i Auckland Hospital of Mr 11. Mehaffey, of New Plymouth, who had met with a tram accident there—To be I ' 'destitute ORPHANS. B A leter was received from the Wanc gantti Board, stating there were vas caneies in the Wanganui Orphanage r f-T destitute orphans. f The chairman slated that at present y th" children under the care of the r Board cost 7/ per week per child, and s (he charges were all well placed, r The secretary was instructed to inn quite particulars of charge, etc. £ PROBATIONERS. II The names of Misses May Georu gina Trecby, of New Plymouth, h Enid Annie Houchon, of Takapuna, s were placed on the probationers' list, r- Miss Ruth 11. Whistlaw, of-Kapiti, if also applied, but her name could not be accepted as she was under age. SURGEON'S REPORT.
